eisenerZ*ART Wie immer man es betrachten mag, Eisenerz ist ein Ort mit besonderem Charme, der gerade durch seine Geschichte mit und um den Erzberg ein reizvolles Handlungsfeld für Künstler und Kulturschaffende darstellt. Als eine Art moderner "Kunstgenerator" macht sich die neue Veranstaltungsreihe eisenerZ*ART auf den Weg, Blicke von außen auf die Bergstadt zu werfen und traditionelle Kulturformen mit zeitgenössischen Kunstansätzen zu verbinden. eisenerZ*ART sieht sich deshalb als Motor für die Entwicklung einer eigenständigen "Kunst- und Kulturregion Eisenerz", die selbstbewusst regionales Potential nutzt und in einen internationalen Kontext stellt: Eisenerz ist überall.

Running up the stages of the Erzberg, where thousands of people have been working for many centuries: that is the so-called Erzberglauf.

Every year the mountain awaits thousands of runners and Nordic walkers. It is an ultimate experience for sportsmen in a beautiful landscape. The Erzberg is a world cultural heritage. If an Oscar was given to mountains, the Erzberg would get it because of its uniqueness.

Innerberger Forum

The so-called “Innerberger Forum” is a cultural club which was founded in 1993. It has got its name from the old town name Innerberg, which was used in the 13th century. The club makes cultural, scientific and pedagogical events. It also tries to create a new cultural dimension which is supposed to be unique.

The Ferienpass in Eisenerz

The so-called “Ferienpass” offers children a wide summer program. About 1000 of children take part at it every year. At this event children can try, for example, tennis, badminton, climbing, football, volleyball and so on.

Volkskulturtage

It is a manifold event powered by the cultural club. The municipalities Vordernberg, Eisenerz, Hieflau and Radmer take part in the event. This event starts in September and ends in October and contains a lot of regional and national music groups.

Celebrate Advent like a miner in Eisenerz

Celebrate Advent like a miner in Eisenerz. Take part in the old customs and traditions of the miners. A highlight is the “Barbarafeier” where St. Barbara, who is the patron saint of the miners, is celebrated. At this day you can see people wearing old mining costumes everywhere in Eisenerz.

Krampusumzug

The so-called “Krampus” is a creature which comes out of hell. It is supposed to fear children. They actually look like devils. In December you can see such creatures. On the 5th of December people dress like “Krampusse” (plural of “Krampus”) and walk through the city. The nice, self-made costumes are worth looking.

New Year’s concert

For 5 years there has been a New Year’s concert I Eisenerz. Famous orchestras take part in this event. Enjoy classical music while drinking a glass of sparkling wine.
